Fear is escalating over the new strain of flu, the Swine Flu. It reminds me of the post 9-11 hysteria that opened Pandora’s fear box a few years back about terrorists. Remember a wise person once said, “There is nothing to fear, but fear itself.”
Fear is a natural response to the unknown. It is one of the oldest defense systems that our ancient brain has . It heightens our awareness and gets the Adrenalin pumping so we can flee or fight, This is a good mechanism, but with the stresses of modern life, this system has been overworked and has gone into overdrive.
When we are under too much stress for too long a time, we are not able to relax and sleep properly so the immune system’s ability to react to stress is depleted and we get sick.
Now a new strain of flu comes along which it does every year and being in a depleted state due to too much stress, not enough rest and hydration we can get sick. Add to this the mass worry and fear over a “possible” pandemic and the wellness of mind and body decrease.
Here are some of the things to do to stay well or get better faster and stay well:
1. Calm down and deep breath regularly.
2. Drink purified water every 1/2 hour to stay hydrated at least.
3. Eat well- lots of fruits and veggies no red meat unless too weak to eat then bone marrow soup.
4. Sleep deeply and 6 to 8 hours.
5. Take your vitamins (A, B, C, ester E, D) and get fresh air and sunshine daily.
6 Wash hands frequently.
7 See your health practitioner pronto is you get flu like symptoms. Health practitioners that are trained have a deep knowledge of homeopathy, herbs, nutritional medicine can usually help you return to health sooner and stay well longer then western pharmaceutical drugs.
8. Stay home if sick
If you must be around sick people:
1 Keep hugging / kissing - especially sick people - not too long
2 Wear mask around sick people.
3 Fresh air and sunshine daily to build the immune system.
Swine Flu virus lodges in the upper respiratory infections and pneumonia. There are several good homeopathic remedies that could help with these symptoms.
